In November 2014 an application was made to the National Forest Land Scheme to purchase the corner of the Fourpenny Plantation shown in yellow hatch above. This has been agreed and the sale has just been completed on 27th October 2015 and information sent to the Land Register.

A feasibility study has been conducted by Natural Power Consultants Ltd into the possibility of erecting a wind turbine on the site. This was funded by the Energy Saving Trust. This has now gone to Highland Council for a screening with regard to planning permission requirements.

The land and standing timber has been valued at £25,000. We have a commitment from SSE for a £20,000 award and have been granted £10,000 from 'Awards for All' (Big Lottery). Together they give us sufficient money to complete the purchase and pay the legal fees involved.

We plan to let part of the site as runrigs to allow local people and families to grow their own crops and already have a number expressing an interest in being allocated a runrig.

August 2016 and the first tattties are being lifted!
